Hello

Hello, I'm Tim Aiello, and I am deeply passionate about aiding individuals in discovering peace and healing in their lives. I firmly believe that everyone possesses the innate ability to achieve wholeness and happiness, often requiring some guidance along the way. As a psychotherapist, I specialize in working with both Adult ADHD and Autism. My unique perspective comes not only from my clinical expertise but also from my personal experience—being diagnosed myself allows me to deeply understand and identify the lived experience of AuDHD (ADHD + Autism).

I hold multiple certifications, including ASDCS (Autism Spectrum Disorder Certified Specialist) and ADHD-CCSP (ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider), which further enable me to recognize and address the nuanced challenges that neurodivergent adults face.

My Story

ADHD and Autism are more than just challenges with focus, hyperactivity, or social interaction—they shape how individuals perceive the world, navigate emotions, and engage with daily life. Many adults with ADHD and Autism encounter significant struggles, anxieties, dysfunction, and sadness in different aspects of life. Through both my professional knowledge and lived experience, I incorporate techniques in my sessions that directly address these daily challenges.

I find great success in utilizing a combination of Polyvagal Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support my clients. By integrating Polyvagal Theory, I help individuals understand their nervous system responses, regulate emotions, and shift from chronic fight-or-flight to a state of safety and connection. Paired with CBT, which provides structured, practical strategies for reframing thoughts and behaviors, this approach empowers individuals to build resilience, manage anxiety, and develop long-term coping strategies.

My approach integrates diverse therapeutic techniques tailored to empower neurodivergent individuals to navigate the world more effectively. I embrace the unconventional and value creativity, deep thinking, and unique problem-solving skills, recognizing them as strengths rather than obstacles. Many individuals with ADHD and Autism also contend with anxiety, depression, sensory sensitivities, and trauma, and I am equipped to help identify whether these struggles may stem from an underlying neurodivergent experience.

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Central Michigan University, with practical experience gained through a telehealth therapy practicum and an internship working with adults and children. I am a nationally board-certified therapist (NBCC), a member of the American Counseling Association, and part of the Chi Sigma Iota professional honors society.

Through my professional journey, I’ve found that most individuals already possess the answers they seek, but sometimes need guidance in uncovering them. You are the expert on yourself, and I am here to support you in achieving peace, self-awareness, personal growth, healing, and overall wellness.

Education is a crucial part of counseling, as true growth and change occur outside our sessions when you apply learned strategies in real life. My role is to equip, support, and empower you along your journey.

Let us partner with you on your journey to growth and self-discovery. It would be an honor to accompany you on your path toward healing.
